Cheyenne Jenkins is a Toronto-based artist working in photography and digital media. A graduate of the Photography Program of the Studio Arts Faculty of Concordia University in Montreal, Jenkins' artistic practice balances a traditional view of photography with contemporary digital elements in a story telling tradition.
Cultural history, society, representation of women and First Nations peoples, history and modernization are recurrent themes in her work and in the interpretive focus of her digital art. She produces both, large-scale, colour and tinted photographs and a variety of richly textured visual digital media blending photographic elements with movement and blended imagery.
Her exploration of modern societal angst is paired with a creative impressionist instinct seamlessly blending atmosphere and subject matter to create works with layered impact and enduring interest.
